Chrysalises from Gemma's Nana

Wow, we are so lucky Gemma brought in two chrysalises from her Nana. Her Nana has been saving them.
One is ready to hatch, its black, the other is still very green.
We will wait and watch and take photos. We hope it doesn't hatch over night!

Butterfly hatching, right in front of our eyes!

Gemma brought in a chrysalis to show us. We could see the dark black wing coming out.
It stayed a long time sitting on a classroom plant.
Can you see the patterns on its wings?
We put it outside the classroom door in the garden.
It rested for a long time, then at the end of the day it was     gone. We hope it has a good life.

Term 4 Can you guess what we are learning about?

Six stations with six activities, all linked some how.
Can you guess what the connections are?
Look at the photographs carefully.

Ask a Learner in Room 5, they will tell you what our focus is this term. Come join us.

Term 3 The World has Come to Our Place.

Visual Art in Term three included finding out about a famous artist called Pablo Picasso. We used his idea of drawing sideward faces with over large features in our wax crayon drawings of Rugby World Cup Fans. These drawings became our Calendar Art to raise money for our school.
